That will probably be good. I tried to make a sprite pound cake once with dew and it was like there was not enough sugar to balance the bitterness of caffine. any thoughts on how to make somebody pay you for your netbook that you sold on ebay? This dude will not pay and it is annoying.

A pistachio cake? You must really enjoy pistachios. I find them moderately enjoyable, but your cake seems to be the fruits of an obsession. Also, from previous experience, substituting mountain dew for sprite or 7up does not work out. It makes food taste kind of like sweet tarts, as it has an abundance of sugar and caffine. You would probably be better off paying for the sprite. Sorry to rain on your parade.

They seep pretty standard looking. In my HP mini I could only use the extra mini pcie for a WAN card. It could either be AT&T or Verizon, and it would not allow the computer to start with any other type of card in the slot. Have you heard of any mods to make this slot useful? Also, I think that I may have an extra mini pcie in my laptop, but I don’t want to open it to find out. Is there anything that I should consider putting into it?

I think it’s just video; but you also have to make sure the mini-pcie slots are hooked up for pci-e and not just usb.

I don’t quite know about those. How many could I need? Also does your graphics thing make all graphics better? Justin may want it. he has crap graphics and 2 mini pcie slots. One is for a WAN and the other is for PAN, although they are both empty.

PHYS 214 is only half a semester and the history class shouldn’t be too time-consuming, but my schedule is pretty intense this semester. I might drop the math class or one of the two higher-level computer science courses if things get hairy. I’ll have to be very careful this semester…

I learned that too, but then I learned that was a leftover from the days of typewriters, when they needed to make it easy to distinguish sentences from each other. In modern days, it’s supposed to be a space that’s longer than one, but shorter than two, but most of the time, its either one space or the font you use handles the spacing between letters and periods.

Also, ReCaptcha shouldn’t be making people type in complex fractions.

The netbook only has a 1.8″ zif socket, and after some tests on the spare mini PCIe I have found that it only accepts mobile broadband, nothing else. In other news the comments area looks really messed up right now. The text formatting options are spaced way too far out.

You might want to check out this deal for a 2.5" 64GB SSD for $95 after rebate. Having 4x as much space for only $30 more may increase profit margins when selling to another person who might appreciate the extra space. And you don't have to worry about customizing a Windows 7 install.

I don’t really see a mention of being able to remove stuff, but it has tabs for “tweaks” and “services”, so you might be able to get rid of stuff through those options.

I think Windows 7 Starter is stripped down in size, but it has weird limitations like not being able to play DVD movies from a DVD drive. I would avoid it unless it really offers a worthwhile space savings.

I might be interested, although I will have to find out more about the computer. I will let you know once it gets here. I was thinking of putting windows 7 and OSX86 on it in a dual-boot. The Windows 7 GMA950 drivers are not too bad right? I probably will put a hard drive into this netbook, play around with it for two weeks and then sell it.

Would you like to buy a Mini-PCIE Broadcom Crystal HD accelerator from me for $40?

If it has an open mini-pcie slot, you could use it to output smooth 1080p blu-ray video to an external display. I bought it for my Dell mini 10, but I found out I’d have to do some modding and give up my wi-fi card in order to use it.

Good idea and correct assessment of the target audience. You do have the correct HRRF too. What would you put in the ads? I’d have to agree. I think the theme I was using before was made almost a decade ago.

I liked its simplicity and compatibility with practically every browser though. I wonder how this one will hold up.

Right now, part of the home page’s title is randomized, too. I can change it so that’s it’s consistent with the tagline at the upper-right hand corner, if you guys would like that.

Also, MCEComments doesn’t work atm, so you can’t do fancy stuff to comments.

Finally, is there anything else you guys would like to see changed in the theme? I’m thinking about changing to fluid-width, and maybe changing the font back, but I’m sort of getting used to this.

Looking at the pictures and specs so far, I think the 8740w is better than the Envy 17 overall; it has a better graphics card, a proper numpad, and more USB 3.0 ports and RAM slots.

Whereas the Envy 15 vs 8540w is more of a tossup, but the 8540w also includes a numpad, too...

For me, I’d probably get the ENVY 17. It doesn’t seem to be that much heavier, but there is a noticeable performance difference between the HD 5830 and HD 5850. It also has a numpad and built-in optical drive, too; two relatively frivolous-to-me features that I’d like to see on any laptop.

Yeah. You need to boot from CD and then press enter to install. f8 to aggree. press down to install a fresh copy, highlight the partition that you had windows on and press d then enter then L to remove the partition. press enter and select NTFS quick reformat. than it will install windows.

The Windows XP install disc should let you format the drive. I think just deleting the current XP partition should be ok; then you can create a new partition that's the size of the hard drive from there and install to it.

There should be a drive management option in the first couple menus after it's finished loading stuff from the disc.

The Macbook Pro 13" didn't get a Core i-series upgrade because of the chipset, as Ars reports. The 13" doesn't have any room for a dedicated GPU, so it relies on the nvidia integrated graphics, but Nvidia doesn't have a chipset with good integrated graphics out yet for the Core i-series (due to legal issues with intel), so Apple decided it was better to stick with the core 2 duo than forgo powerful integrated graphics. Plus, there isn't a noticeable performance difference between core i3 and core 2 duo chips, anyway.
